CrossFit Franklin Fitness Coaches – MA


I am a Level 2 CrossFit Coach, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Certified Fitness Instructor, Indoor Cycle Instructor, Fitness Boxing Coach, Athlete, avid marathon runner, and a mother of 3 amazing boys. My past career was in Human Resource & Management with specialties in Immigration Law, Worker’s Compensation, and Recruitment.

I started CrossFit in 2011 simply because a friend saw the “CrossFit Games” on TV and mentioned, “you’ve heard of CrossFit right!? It speaks to who you are!” I hadn’t tried yet, so off I went to CrossFit Franklin for my very first humbling class. That one hour class changed me. I was introduced to an amazing community of athletes & coaches who welcomed me & encouraged me. At that moment I committed myself to learn & uphold CF standards and grow as an athlete pouring out perseverance, setting high standards for myself, and never allowing myself to give anything but my very best.


As a coach & athlete I am passionate about ensuring that each and every athlete executes movements properly and safely, but always specific to their specific needs & abilities. I coach with the intention that every athlete comes into the “Box” for a one hour class for many different reasons & many different needs. I also don’t know what they face outside the Box walls, so I pledge to always make that one hour the best part of their day both mentally & physically with 1:1 attention and reminding them “Can’t Is Not An Option”. The real gift of CrossFit is how it affects athletes in their everyday lives in so many positive ways.

I love CrossFit, my crossFit family and our community and there is no “unknown” that I can’t face head on. As a coach I will always prepare our athletes for the “Unknown” with tons of positive motivation!

I was a “late bloomer” to the world of athletics. Never having played a sport in high school or college, I found fitness as an adult and it changed my life. It became a source of passion and confidence and revealed an inner drive that I never knew existed. Although I was an avid runner and triathlete for years, I was looking for something different while trying to juggle work and life with two small boys. I started CrossFit in November, 2011 and was hooked from the start. CrossFit has not only made me physically stronger, it has made me more confident in every aspect of my life. Because CrossFit challenges you every day to do things you have never done before, you gain confidence outside the gym to try new things.
In fact, CrossFit gave me the confidence to leave the full-time corporate world to become certified as a personal trainer and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. It is amazing to watch and experience the change in athletes’ first-hand as they grow and develop, and seeing the smile on an athlete’s face when they accomplish their goals is something I will never tire of.

Growing up as a competitive athlete I was always looking for something to push me both physically and mentally. I played many sports as a young athlete and continued on to play collegiate lacrosse. In the fall of 2012 I was in Virginia Beach and was exposed to my first CrossFit workout, death by pull-ups. CrossFit for me was a way to combine everything I’ve learned as an athlete in a competitive atmosphere, and I fell in love with CrossFit immediately. After I returned home to Vermont I joined my first CrossFit Box, CrossFit Burlington. I have trained in boxes from Vermont to Boston and decided I wanted to take my CrossFit career further and coach others. In the summer of 2014 I completed my Level One. I really enjoy working with the athletes at CrossFit Franklin, and hope to help the members of our community reach their fitness goals.

I started my CrossFit journey in the fall of 2014 at CrossFit Franklin after my awesome wife talked me into giving it a shot. Being a former division 1 football player, as well as a collegiate coach at all levels, training and working out has been a major part of my life for a very long time. I was tired of the same old routine! I took the elements classes and dove right in. What I found was a form of training that challenged me both physically and mentally. There is always something to work on and always something to be better at. The learning never stops, and the way classes and WODs are setup, it’s a constant competition with yourself to be better every time you walk thru the door.
I firmly believe that competition breeds success! When you’re in the middle of a workout and you’re able to look over and see athletes next to you giving it everything they have, it is a motivation second to none! There is nothing like a community of people all working for a common goal and pulling for one another to be their absolute best. With CrossFit, you get that team atmosphere. This, in my opinion, is what it’s all about and what makes CrossFit truly great!
Coaching has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After my college playing days were over, I began coaching football and working in strength and conditioning. After trying a few classes I was hooked on CrossFit, and it was just a matter of time before I made the transition from the field to the “Box”. I love coaching and helping people push themselves further than they thought possible.

As a child and a teenager, I struggled with my weight, which followed me into adulthood. About six years ago, I decided to make a change for the better and started exercising. I joined the Rugby Team in college and cleaned up my diet, which lead me to lose 30 pounds. I started to become passionate about health and fitness, which lead me to work in the fitness industry as a Bootcamp instructor. I loved to help people turn their lives into healthier ones, but I always felt there was something else out there for me that would challenge not only the body but the mind. I heard about this thing called CrossFit and at first I was really intimidated and scared to try it. Needless to say, I decided to give it a try. I started at CrossFit Franklin as an athlete in 2014, following my move to Bellingham from my hometown of West Roxbury. This was my first experience with CrossFit, and looking back now, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the sport and how it would positively impact my life and the people around me. Now as a Level One CrossFit Trainer, I absolutely love to see athletes PR, try something new and challenge themselves in ways they could never have imagined. Joining CrossFit gave me a home away from home and it was the best decision I could have ever made.

Coleen Crawford

I was a high school and college sprinter. I graduated with a degree in Psychology and Sociology from Assumption College and a Masters Degree in higher education from Springfield College. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to keep in shape with the usual gym routine. I tried to get back into shape after having twins, but found that working out alone in a typical gym wasn’t producing the results that I wanted. I gave CrossFit a try in November 2011 and never looked back.

In October 2014 I started weightlifting because I wanted to be stronger and focusing on technique was the only answer. I found my passion on the platform. In the last year and a half I’ve made significant strides in all of my lifts and truly found what makes me happy.

Now, I’m in better shape than ever and lifting weights that I never thought I was capable of lifting. I am excited to share my new passion with others and to help them achieve a level of fitness they have not yet reached on their own.
